What is stopping you from saving regularly?

Saving (money) is part of Asian deep-rooted culture. From young, parents will educate their children to save in "piggy bank" and reward them accordingly. Check the report from MIER that Malaysian household debts is breaking a new record level, click here for details.

However, time changes and practices also change. Today, there are too many reasons for a young working adult fail to save. There are.....
  1. Higher living cost as compared to in 1970s to 1990s.
  2. Too many new basic necessity - car, mobile phone, Astro, broadband etc.
  3. Aggressive promotion and marketing by merchants - 0% interest free installment; use first pay later etc.
  4. Non-competitive environment and therefore "middle income trap"
  5. Lifestyle and entertainment - fine dinning, clubbing etc.
I believe the list can be longer.... please suggest one.
