In the spring issue of Schwab's On Investing magazine (not a Malaysia magazine), they asked 12,000 of their clients what they would do if they received $25,000 unexpectedly. The results were:
- 62% - invest the money
- 29% - save it
- 24% - pay off debt
- 14% - spend it
- 6% - donate money to charity
If I have a RM25,000 windfall, I will spent 1/2, invest 1/2. How about you?
If the windfall is RM1million then I will seriously consider "instant retirement" from day job so i can do something different to earn money.
